A major marijuana-growing operation was recently busted near a Henderson elementary school. SCORE, an agency comprised of Las Vegas and Henderson police officers along with agents of the DEA, recently arrested Steven Prue for selling and possessing marijuana, and the hunt for other suspects involved in the operation is currently ongoing.
During a raid that took place on October 18, 2012, police discovered more than 150 marijuana plants growing inside the home, which was located in the 2700 block of Pinewood Avenue. There was also around 20 pounds of marijuana already packaged for sale. In all, officers estimate that there was approximately $450,000 worth of marijuana seized during the raid.
Closing down this operation has been a high priority for Las Vegas authorities for some time due to its close proximity to an elementary school. The suspect who was arrested now faces felony charges due to the location of the operation and the amount of marijuana seized at the time of his arrest. Private citizens who have any information that could lead to the arrest of other suspects involved in this operation are encouraged to call the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
