Notorious Crime Scene an Offbeat Vegas Attraction

Las Vegas is home to an infamous crime scene which has become somewhat of a tourist attraction in its own right. The murder location of rapper Tupac Shakur is often visited by tourists, and the scene is also featured on numerous websites.

The actual location of the shooting is at the corner of Flamingo and Koval Lane. The murder happened on the evening of September 7, 1996 at around 11:15 p.m. That’s when Shakur and a companion named Suge Knight were stopped at a red light at this intersection. While they were stopped, a white Cadillac pulled up alongside the pair and opened fire into the BMW. In all, 14 bullets were released, three of which hit the famous rapper. He died 6 days later on Friday the 13th.

Although there have been numerous theories as to the identity of the shooter, no arrests have ever been made in the case. Some of the rumors surrounding this case claim that rappers Puff Daddy or Notorious B.I.G. were involved in the shooting though there has not been any evidence to support this. Other rumors claim that Shakur is still alive and point to albums that were posthumously released as indicators he may have faked his death and plans to resurface again at a later date.
